Sensor Details
What is the MQ-7 Sensor?
The MQ-7 sensor is specifically designed to detect Carbon Monoxide (CO), a colorless, odorless, and highly toxic gas. It is critical for safety applications where incomplete combustion may occur.
Primary Gas Detected:
- Carbon Monoxide (CO)
How does it work?
The MQ-7 sensor uses a unique high/low temperature cycle to detect CO. Its internal sensing element's resistance changes based on the concentration of CO gas in the air, allowing a microcontroller to measure and report the levels accurately.
Common Applications:
- CO alarms for homes, garages, and RVs.
- Ventilation control systems in underground car parks.
- Air quality monitoring in industrial environments.
- Fire detection systems (as CO is a byproduct of fire).
